Hello my name is Robert Byers,

I think I’ve been a member of the club for about 15 years now.

I joined in the hope it would help me improve my photography skills as I enjoyed taking photos but the bad ones outnumbered the good ones by lots 😊

So my journey at the club began. It was good to speak to more skilled photographers and get an insight how they looked at the scene and got their image.

The first year, I entered nearly all the competitions and started to get some good and bad feedback from judges.  Not put off I tried again the second year and started getting some promising scores from the judges and hay presto I won the best beginner and then I was hooked.

Over the following years I had some good and bad feedback from judges (boo hiss) but there was improvement.

I even managed to get published in the local East Lothian Life magazine (Front Cover) 😊

My photography is a complete mixture of random things but lately I’m getting more into Light Painting the practice of creating images with light.
